Process for my Akatsuki vacation picture.
Process involves.
- Make generic boring lineart. Water will be transparent so the lines aren’t that important.
- Flat colours
- Multiply for shadows
- Paint some lines in the water to help establish the direction its going in and use overlay layers to help make the water look brighter and stuff.
- Paint paint paint. I merged the whole drawing and stared painting over the top. I also added blue and yellow overlay layers to try unify the colours.
- Opened it in photoshop and blurred the red alpha channel. I forgot what this is called but it makes the reds bleed into the rest of the image and leaves it greenish-pinkish and just softens stuff up. Also kills all the black lines which I like doing.
- Add detail
- Add more detail till you’re tired of the drawing or feel like its finished :D
Tadaaa. Thats it really. Flat brush is the only brush I use for this whole process. I do play around with the min size option a bit depending on if I’m doing lineart or painting etc. I also use the ‘water’ for blending with the default round brush.
