Anonymous asked: honestly I've asked already like 4 people and none of them has answered this question if you don't answer it either I'm gonna give up: how did you develop your own personal style? I've been trying out different styles and I've been playing around with body proportions but nothing seems to work DX any tips?
A style is something just comes out of you when you draw, we can also learn different names of styles but people will tell that you’re the one who drew it ‘ 3 ‘ because that is how you see the stuff. For example, you and I are gonna draw a still life of this apple set on the table. So we’re done drawing right? We compare both our drawings. Mine (for example) is round and red, but you draw yours round but colored in red orange. Nothing is wrong with both, it’s that we prefer our apple like that. An apple colored in our own style!
On my case tho, I began with lotsa styles (anime, portraits, realistic, cartoons, etc) but in the end, I only prefer to draw and color what looks good in my eyes, I didn’t really care if people call it anime-ish cartoon or semi-realistic cartoon or cj or bleh. So long as I did my proportions right TTw TT Then I used that all the time.
Don’t worry. Your style is already there, not all the time we recognize them. The only thing we need to look out for our drawings are progress and improvement ‘ v ‘
I guess when you draw a lot like A LOT, you will see the differences that you make. That is if you wanna see what your style really is like ‘ 3 ‘
