Fun fact: It’s recommended for volleyball players to keep their nails short in case of breaking them when having contact with the ball or in case they scratch themselves or others. Also, if a player is jumping up for a block and it happens that they are up against a hitter who hits straight down, and the player hits it directly on top of the other player hands then it will cause a lot of damage. If the position of the player is that of a setter, then long nails would make it quite difficult to do their job. And Kageyama knows it.
