Rei is one of the characters who underwent a lot of changes and adjustment during the development stage. Initially, he was given a personality that is similar to Momotarou Mikoshiba, but after taking the balance of all the main characters into consideration, the current “Rei Ryugazaki” was born. Names to go with his personality such as Kai (sea) or Kaede (maple tree) were also changed, and in the end he was given the name “Rei”, which sounds like a girl’s name and has a beautiful ring to it.
