Australian artist Elspeth McLean plans to unleash everybody’s inner child. Her intricate and vibrant artwork consists of painting colorful bright dots on the surface of mandala stones she found on beaches in New Zealand. Due to the stones’ smooth texture, McLean is able to apply a highly detailed-oriented technique. She uses a tiny brush to apply acrylic paint cautiously. By adding multiple layers of paint, she creates a subliminal effect, which makes her decorative design appear three-dimensional. She says:
“Painting is my way to find my ‘happy place’ and color is a way to express and celebrate the colors of my soul.”
