“sorry,” he scrunched his tear-stained face, and clutched at her shoulders. “ i tried to ignore them, like you told me. they’re bullies and i’m better than them. but they told me that i was a freak, because i got pink hair, and i got so angry and tried to do that punch like mama does but-”
“they didn’t believe you."she promptly interrupted with a sharp nod. "that it came from mama.”
“…and i’m not a freak.” he hiccuped.
